I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in Social Science and minored in Education. While at UNT, I earned a teaching certificate from the Texas Education Agency.
Before working at ICCS, I worked for 3 years as a substitute teacher for Northwest ISD. That was a great experience for me, and it solidified my desire to teach and coach in a Catholic community.
I feel qualified to teach PE and coach after-school sports at Our Lady’s school because:
- I had the privilege of being reared and formed in a loving, Catholic home. My parents were also very supportive of me taking the opportunity to play sports from 2nd-12th grade. Their love for me, my siblings, and for God taught me more than anything I learned in college or other life experiences.
- In college, I had the privilege of working as a Student Assistant for the UNT Women’s Basketball team. I was at all team meetings, practices and traveled to all games which allowed me a great opportunity to grow in knowledge and understanding of the game of basketball, team dynamics, leadership and character development.
- I also have been blessed with the opportunity to work at St. Mark parish (Denton) in the Lifeteen program for the past 3 years. My work as part of the Lifeteen team has helped me understand and experience the value of presenting the Gospel message to young people and allowing that message to change their lives.
- Finally, I have the supported of a great administration and am able to work with an amazing staff. The established culture at ICCS and the experienced staff is a great resource for me.
