Mask Protocols for ICCS
UPDATE: Effective Nov. 30, 2020, new mask protocols for grades K-3
Dear K-3 Parents:
Thank you for all you've done to keep your families and our school community safe. As the Covid-19 continue to spike in this area, it is necessary to take greater precautions as we head into the holidays.
As of Monday, Nov. 30, students in K-3 will be required to wear masks under the same requirements as those students in grades 4-8. The students in K-3 already have a comfort level with wearing masks in transition. Many of the students in K-3 already wear masks throughout the day due to parent request. We think it's important to increase the vigilance level at these
grade levels.
Our Lady’s school aims to provide a faith-filled, educational, and safe environment for all of God’s children who enter our doors. It is no secret that there are extra challenges during this time. To help ensure a safe environment, we are adhering to these new procedures.
Mask Protocols for ICCS - Grades K-8th
Our Lady’s school aims to provide a faith-filled, educational, and safe environment for all of God’s children who enter our doors. It is no secret that there are extra challenges during this time. To help ensure a safe environment, we have new procedures in place.
Following is the protocol for students in grades K-8 regarding the wearing of masks in the school:
All students in grade K-8 must wear masks at all times except during designated "mask breaks," such as when outside, during lunch, or at P.E.
Masks are to cover both the nose and the mouth.
Students are to come to school with a clean mask every day.
Families will provide one extra mask per student to be kept in the classroom. This mask will be stored and given to the student should their current mask get dirty. (Please send this mask in a plastic bag with the student's name on it.)
Masks must be school appropriate, solids and simple patterns are encouraged. (The school has the authority to determine if a mask is appropriate.)
IMPORTANT! Gaitors, bandanas and masks with one-way valves are not acceptable per the diocesan health office because they do not provide adequate protection against transmission of respiratory droplets.
The school will provide a lanyard that is to be attached to the student's masks. The lanyards are to help the students keep track of their masks during "mask breaks."
We appreciate your support and efforts during this time.
“May health be yours, whatever you do, and may God send you many blessings!”
