Safe Environment and Volunteer Information

The Office of Safe Environment of the Diocese of Fort Worth manages the Safe Environment training programs in accordance with the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth. 

Safe Environment Training is required for all Clergy, Religious, Lay Employees, and Volunteers PRIOR TO SERVING IN MINISTRY and must be renewed every 2 years. 

Initial or Renewal Safe Environment Certification currently requires attendance at a "LIVE/In-Person" Safe Environment Awareness Session.  Prior to the session, every volunteer must set up a "Virtus Profile" online. Creating a Virtus Profile online allows volunteers to view and sign up for training sessions by going to

Select either "I Need a Virtus Profile" OR "I Have a Virtus Profile" and follow the prompts.
