ICCS Spelling Bee Information
The ICCS Spelling Bee is an annual event. To qualify for the finals, students in grades 4-8 who wish to be considered are be given a written test. The ten students with the top scores advance to the finals. Trophies are awarded to the top three students.
The champion and runnerup advance to the Denton County Spelling Bee, competing against students from across Denton County. The top two students in the Denton County Bee will advance to the Dallas Morning News Regional Bee in Dallas. The champion of the regional bee advances to Washington D. C. for the National Competition and wins an all-expense paid trip to the bee!
The purpose of the spelling bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
